Oakham Villa complete signing of Goneguy5
Oakham Villa are delighted to confirm the signing of Goneguy5, who joins the club after impressing during the Villains' recent exhibition matches against Civ Bowl champions Shiro Tigers.
The Danzilona-based player will wear the number 4 jersey for Oakham Villa.
Goneguy5 first caught the attention of Villa staff during the club's two most recent games, a 15-4 defeat followed by a 14-4 loss against Shiro. Despite lining up for the opposition in both matches, his performances quickly stood out.
Remarkably, the first of those games was also Goneguy5's first ever appearance in Civ hockey. He was brought into the Shiro lineup after Uraumi dropped out and, despite having no previous competitive hockey experience, settled into the game quickly. Goneguy5 looked to create opportunities for his teammates and showed an immediate instinct for linking up play. Across the two games he impressed Oakham Villa's staff enough to earn an offer to join the club.
His arrival also follows his own attempts to grow hockey in Danzilona. Goneguy5 had previously tried to encourage the nation to form a team and become involved in the sport, but with those efforts yet to take off, he began looking elsewhere for opportunities to play.
That search unexpectedly led him into the Shiro Tigers lineup, and ultimately into the sights of Oakham Villa. After receiving an offer from Oakham, he was delighted to put pen to paper and join a side where he can continue developing his game.
Away from the rink, Goneguy5 describes Danzilona as his primary home, while also holding ties to Cortesia del Mar, Nassau and Azora. He says one of his favourite parts of CivMC is spending time in voice chats and helping out wherever he can.
With just two games of experience behind him, the number 4 arrives as a player with plenty of room to develop, but his early performances have already shown enough promise to convince Oakham Villa that he can become a valuable part of the squad.
Welcome to Oakham Villa, Goneguy5!
